Privacy

We set no cookies. We run no analytics of any kind: no Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no Meta pixel, no heatmap or session recording. We write nothing to local storage or session storage. There are no adverts and no ad network. We have no login, so there is no account and no password. We do not build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell to anybody, because we never collect it.

Every way of reaching us on this site is a plain email link. A form would post what you type to a server and store it there; an email link opens your own mail program, and nothing reaches us until you press send. If you do write to us, we hold that message in the mailbox the way anyone holds an email, and use it only to answer you. Ask us to delete it and we will.

The site runs on Vercel. Like every web server, theirs logs the requests it serves: the page asked for, the time, the browser’s user-agent string and the IP address it came from. That is a by-product of serving a page rather than something we set out to gather. We do not link it to anything else and do not use it to identify individuals. Vercel handles it as our hosting provider under their own privacy policy.

The two typefaces are downloaded when the site is built and served from our own domain. Most sites link straight to fonts.googleapis.com, which quietly hands Google the IP address of every visitor on every page. Ours never makes that request.

Listing photographs belong to the businesses’ Google Business Profiles. Ordinary photos are fetched by our server and re-served from our domain, so Google does not see you looking at them. Business logos are the exception: those load straight from Google’s image servers, so Google receives your IP address for that one image, as it would on any page showing a Google-hosted picture.

When you click through to a plumber’s own website, or tap a phone number, you leave us, and what happens next is between you and that business. We do not route, count or log those clicks, so we genuinely do not know which listings get phoned. Outbound links carry nofollow, and paid ones sponsored.

The directory itself is built from public Google Business Profiles: trading name, address, business phone number, website, trading hours, rating and review count. For a one-person plumbing business those details are personal information as well as business information, which is why we publish only what the business has already chosen to make public, add nothing from any other source, and take it down on request.

Email us and it is done, usually within two working days. No charge, no form, and no need to justify it. Removal means the listing and everything we hold about that business goes, not just the public page.

South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Write to hello@plumbernearme.co.za. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Information Regulator.

If we ever add analytics, a form, or anything that sets a cookie, this page changes first and says so plainly. We would rather lose the measurement than quietly start collecting.
